You still get to be you. You still have your own life to explore. You still have your kids who are playing hard, fighting for technology time, resisting their homework, and working overtime to drive you crazy.
Even though the world seems to be spiraling in the abyss of gross disregard for kindness and humanness, we still have our own family to be kind to, we have our friends to spend time with, and we have wine.
We’re so lucky.
We can make art.
We can help people in need right in our own city.
Even though we feel powerless to help those at airports, or in war torn countries, we can do our best to create peace within our current families, communities, and lives. I keep reminding myself of this.
You and I get to be a shiny, lustrous example of what we’re looking for in the world right now.
This is our power.
And speaking of shiny…shiny jackets are all the rage (well some of it), and I’m all about it. So suit up in your bold, kind, won’t stand for hate, I’m for the people, shiny jacket, lip gloss, and fancy marching boots, and be the change you want to see in the world.
