Red lipstick is daring and fun! There’s trepidation for many women around wearing red, mostly due to how bold it is, but the secret to any woman wearing red lipstick is finding the right shade. I asked some ladies to do a lipstick experiment with me to see how one red would look on our different skin colors. I think everyone looked great in it but…there was trepidation…
“It’s too bright”, “Don’t think it goes with my skin tone good?” etc…I think this shade of red worked on my United Nations segment of women friends, but as always, beauty is personal. We’re all wearing ‘Nars Vesuvio’ and I’m giving this lip color away to a few ladies who tell me why they’re up for being daring in red lipstick, so we can be daring together. Just leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
Here are some before and afters of ladies who don’t usually wear red lipstick, but were up for trying it.
Ms. P here doesn’t even wear makeup, but a little hair zhusing and a red lip, and voila! Instant glam!
Ms. S has one orangey red lipstick and she loves this one.
I’ve been meaning to buy Nars Charlotte which is a darker red (seen here http://wp.me/p5C7hM-RH) for almost a year now, but this turned out to be my first one. My risqué lipstick right now is MAC ‘D for Danger’ (paired with MAC Beet lip Pencil) which is bright pink. From my red lipstick research I also really like Smash Box Disorderly.
Here are 3 other ladies with 3 different styles, and skin tones looking fab in the same lipstick:
You can pull this off too. I’ve been there with the red issues, but my millennial sister told me to stop being ridiculous and just try it. Turns out trying red lipstick is soooo much less painful than childbirth. So it’s not that serious.
