Let me be honest with you. I think I’m here mostly for the fun. I’m cruising earth for the fun, the talks, and the laughs. I do the whole purpose evaluation thing pretty often – the “why am I here question”, and yada yada yada…and I’ve come down to the plain fact that I’m here for the fun. The funny. All the spices of life. Soul filling laughter with friends, my children, reading, the coffee and its shops, the food, my family, the travels, culture, fashion, heavy conversations and delightful hellos, great style, trees, the wine (and some mixed drinks), bookstores, the shopping, the laughter, and some hugs, and some kisses. And wit, with a smidgen of sarcasm.
Of course, life throws in its complications, and I find myself in binding twists like everybody else – health issues, broken relationships, career fails, unrelenting belly fat, self doubt, parenting challenges etc…, but when I get my head above the water, I still conclude – I’m here for the kicks and the fun.
I dress up everyday because it’s my way of adding black pepper, and paprika, and some Herb de Provence to my daily life. Almost everyday, I send memes to my friends and family to make them smile, and hopefully chuckle. I play music loudly in my house – all kinds. I inject dance parties into my kids’ lives. I read and I make my kids read. I have my shows (lately mostly talk shows), but I enjoy movies and shows a lot. I call my friends and keep in touch as much as possible. And I spend time alone. I love culture and style, and I like celebrating all the different types. It all adds spice and interest to everyday living. I’m learning that adding these spices reduces the need for constant vacations, and increases the value of every day. So in other words, Carpe diem with the fun lady!
And the work thing you ask? My work is to let you know that you and I are not in this thing alone. My work is to dare myself to ask all my burning questions, and have all the conversations (the witty variety) I want to have with women of the world, and to share the fun. Talking to women that represent the united nations of the world about what makes us alike, and the cool things that make us different, and how we live our lives with our own individual style is daring, joyful work.
Also, I’m a portrait photographer.
So in short, I’m here for the fun, and for the witty conversations. That’s interesting and spicy to me. Why are you here?
I’m here for the fun.
